This film took itself too seriously to be part of the MCU.

I am very happy that more and more people are starting to see the true value of this film. It goes beyond a green man breaking things and facing the bad guy of the week. This movie is about a man reconciling with the pieces of his childhood... With his father. It's about closing cycles so as not to live repressed. This movie is very special to me and I wasn't able to understand why until I was a man.

Really wish this was the Hulk we got in the MCU. Ang Lee really understood the character. Great visuals that still stand up today. Great storytelling. An interesting take on comic book cinematography.

I liked it....but I didn't care much for the finale. Absorbing man was a major letdown. But the fact that they got the hulk right with him growing stronger and larger, the angrier he got, was what made the movie work for me

One thing that always brings me back to this movie is that unlike the action-packed Incredible Hulk in 2008 or MCU's Hulk where he's just sort of there, the 2003 Hulk gives so much more story to Bruce Banner's character than the other two combined. Not only that, but the movie I feel really encapsulates what it's like when someone is going through a highly stressful episode in terms of the visuals. It's not just them flailing around, throwing shit, and yelling. It's what's zooming through their head at that moment, fleeting images of intense memories that only make the situation worse as you dwell on them, fueling the stress and inevitable rage that someone can reach if pushed to the limit.

I had a really similar experience watching this as a kid, but I had no idea why. I couldn't understand why it made me so angry and so sad so fast. Years later, when I rewatched it, it clicked. I knew what happened around me as a child locked at home with no friends was wrong, deep down, but I didn't know anything else before. Now that I've gone through more of my life and we got out of that situation years ago, I know what happened. I honestly have never seen a movie depict the kind of nightmares you get from it like this movie. It honestly shocks me but in a good way. It reminds me that I'm not alone in those feelings and that there is hope. I have my own kid now and I understand that fear of becoming the monster that horrified you as a child but seeing my step dad and mom so happy together now and the years of healing I've gone through with them has given me so much hope for the future. Thank you for this. You really put into words what I've felt for a long time.

I thought I was the only one who loved Batman Forever. I loved it when I watched it in the theater and still love it today.

The original movie took a superman that was reduced to a cliche, who was defined by outrageous bronze age comic book clickbait, and remythologized him, rehumanized him for a world that had changed so drastically from the 1930's. That work needs to be done again.

@HiTopFilms this might be your best work. Maybe it's because you told this story with as much emotion as the movie had hidden beneath the surface but this was truly amazing.

Growing up i watched this hulk and remembered being glued to the screen the whole time. When I heard so many people bad mouth it as I got older I thought maybe I was just drawn in by the spectacle of the movie. After watching this video I'm confident I wasn't.

It's like Ben Affleck is cursed? When it comes to superhero movies. Batman VS Superman suffered from cuts and rush and streamlined ideas. Justice League suffered from cuts, changes, reshoots and bullshit. Even the flash as remiller ruined that shit. A movie so underrated yet so important that Universal and Marvel never attempted to do a remake. Instead, the incredible hulk with Norton and the avengers with Rufalo is somewhat of an unacknowledged sequel, making Ang Lee's Hulk still a Canon origin for the MCU. I think this in itself proves how important and complex origin story this movie is.

The way you went into the psychology of the movie really made me sit back and think of when that first came out and probably the reason why I was one of the few friends I had that actually enjoyed it. The entire structure of your video and break down analysis was perfect and at the end I swear my allergies started kicking in LOL

The first Marvel movie I ever watched and Hulk is the first Marvel character I knew when I was a kid.

But this time, because this films are just more realistic, she Will not have deadly flowers powers and thet stuff. She uses ... Aaaaahhh... quemichals! Is the Batman's job to stop her. In this Batman film, Bruce Wayne isn't Batman. Batman is Bruce Wayne.

When I saw this the first time (and only time) I didn't understand it I thought the dad experimented on his son then disappeared for some reason came back to try to be a dad son got angry for making what he is finds out his dad also can do it it revealed that dad was jealous of kid left to do it on himself and returns to fight kid to stop him says he is better than son says he will absorb son begins to do so something goes wrong and he dies that's my memory of that movie.

I think this movie can really help someone with a difficult childhood. It's almost therapeutic

I remember both loving and fearing this movie as a kid. The scenes of Bruce's childhood, of Bruce losing control of his emotions, breaking down, scared me more than most horror films I saw back then did and now as a adult I realize why. Because it felt so real and so familiar, that pain and rage, and it frightened me. Not just of the film but of myself. And it still kinda does but in a way that's so cathartic it's unreal. This film will always be incredibly special to me and I'm all the more grateful for it in comparison for what we get for Hulk in film now a days.

Despite it's flaws, I both loved and felt deeply unnerved and touched by this movie since its release. I'm an offspring of a troubled marriage that eventually resulted in divorce, filled with emotional abuse from both parties till the very end of it. I'd always felt inadequate , being a very silent and repressed child, with odd interests like comic books and paleo stuff. It wasn't until later in my teenagehood that I had a 360º change with much help, becoming an extrovert lad. I believe that's why I emotionally connect so much with this film and its themes, it's a very personal mediation on trauma, as well as repressed/mixed feelings on dysfunctional parental figures.
